The production course is geared toward learning the fundamentals of creating a local television show. Students are encouraged to work on actual shoots which supplement overall production
training. Upon successful completion of the workshop, students are awarded an official producer certificate allowing them to operate WinCAM equipment and join membership at Winchester Community Access & Media.
STUDIO
- Producers will learn how to operate TV cameras both in studio and in a remote setting. Learn how to frame camera shots, practice using zoom and focus controls and run a TV camera in a fast paced multicamera shoot. CONTROL ROOM
- Learn how the "nerve center" of a television station works. The control room includes the work of the director who leads the entire crew while a show is in production. The audio engineer controls all sound portion of the telecast including microphone levels and theme music. The graphics operator produces text and fonts when called by the director.
VIDEOTAPE EDITING - The basic concept of non-linear editing is also learned in class. Producers learn how to edit transitions, add graphics and music to their shows.
