WinCAM Classes - January to April 2010

All classes are held on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 pm at
the WinCAM Studio unless otherwise noted

The Pre-Production Class - Part One - January 6:
You've decided to make a television program; what do
you do now? How to best plan for the things you need?

Framed! - January 13- What makes an image
interesting and good in a video frame?
We'll look at movies and see what works for framing
shots.

Lighting For Chroma Key - January 20- In the
beginning there was light. How to get the most from
our studio lights & lighting board when using the green
screen.

The Open Class - January 27- Need help in a particular
aspect of production, theory or practice? You'll receive
individual or small group tutoring in what you need to
know.

The Pre-Production Class - Part Two - February 3- A
more advanced pre-production class for people who
have already started producing shows.

Studio Camera - February 10 - Training and practice for
more advanced camera operation. Over-the-shoulder,
moving the camera while shooting and handheld
shooting.

High Definition Camcorder - February 17 - Our new
camcorders are high def; how do you shoot different?
When should you shoot HD or SD?

The Open Class - February 24 - Need help in a
particular aspect of production, theory or practice?
You'll receive individual or small group tutoring in what
you need to know.

Microphones & Audio - March 3 - Audio theory &
practice using different microphones and sources.
Whether you're recording on location or in the studio,
how do you handle audio?

Studio Basics - March 10 & 17 - The basics of
switching, camera operation, audio & floor direction.
Take this class before you crew!

The Mindless Shooter - March 24 - Stop being afraid of
the camera! Shoot video without thinking and become
one with the camera.

The Open Class - March 31 - Need help in a particular
aspect of production, theory or practice? You'll receive
individual or small group tutoring in what you need to
know.

The Edit Class - April 7 & 14 - Basics of editing; all edit
systems have things in common. We'll be using Final
Cut Pro but what you learn will apply to almost any
edit system.

Shooting Video For Film - April 21 & 28 - How to make
your work look more like film; we'll be using a 35mm
film adapter, a small jib, a dolly and crew to create film
style shots.
