Donald Cronin, Station Manager

Don Cronin is no stranger to community media in Winchester. He has been working in community TV productions for the past 15 years. Before returning to WinCAM in January '2001, Don worked as a production specialist on AT&T Broadband's regional show "Hometown Sports" as part of the companies restructuring of its local programming operation. Prior to that, Don was Program Director at Winchester's community studio previously run by MediaOne. Don received his training at Northeast Broadcasting school in Boston. Coursework included radio and television production. Don is also a Director of the annual channel 2 Auction broadcast on WGBH-TV. In addition, he is a weekend DJ/announcer on WMRC-AM 1490. Don received a first place award in the 1996 Hometown Video festival which is a national video competition sponsored by the Alliance for Community Media. Don's award was for producing and directing local election coverage in Winchester and was an entry in the "LIVE" category. Don looks forward to working with producers in developing community based shows on Winchester's new access TV facility. A GREAT opportunity to be creative through video production!

A graduate of the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College enjoys working with the community volunteers and the town of Winchester to make WinCAM a community station that everyone can be proud of.

In these eleven years Adam has won numerous regional and nation awards for his work, including a Hometown Festival winner for his short detective comedy, The Private Eyes and recognition for the Wakefield Independence Day Parade Coverage which he has directed the past couple of years. While at Ithaca College, Adam was very active in the school's television station, ICTV 54. For two semesters he co-produced a highly successful talk show and directed an award winning children's show. He was a teaching assistant for many of the production classes as well.

Currently Adam also works as a freelance production crew member at New England Cable News in Newton. He has a regular shift Sunday Mornings as the Robotic Camera Operator.

Julia Ripa, Community Relations Coordinator

I started at WinCAM as a student and volunteer, then was fortunate enough to become the Community Relations Coordinator in November 2002.

I graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a degree in Marketing and International Business and a postgraduate degree in Software Technical Writing. After several positions within the software publishing world, I decided to pursue my passion for photography and very quickly came to appreciate television production.

I live in Winchester with my son Luke Scondras.

My first week here, I was thrown into the role of "host" for the WinCAM Santa show, and despite my initial inhibitions, I really did enjoy it . It was a great thrill seeing how the whole crew of volunteers worked together to put on a professional presentation. It was very gratifying.

I would encourage all the residents of Winchester to come on down and join in the fun. It really is a blast!
